This powerful and solid chuck is perfect for use on lathes from 350 mm /14” to 508 mm/20” diameter swing.

 Precise, hardened geared action delivers incredible smooth strength.
Solid, vibration free. Using 50 mm standard jaw you produce up to 310 mm/12” diameter bowls or up to 150 mm/6” lenght x 10 mm/4” diameter objects. With the use of appropriate accessory jaws, such as Art. No. 3841, it is possible to make bigger objects too.
Standard equipment: 50 mm/2” standard jaws, woodworm screw and T bar Allen head handle.
Accessory jaws suggested: Able to take all jaws shown on our catalogue.
Important: We only recommend the use of authentic accessories. Using copies or other brands could negatively affect workpiece clamping.

Woodworm Screws Supplied with the chucks to provide a quick and easy method to mount uniform bowl blanks up to 14” diameter. Provides a secure mounting to form the outside of bowls.

Expansion Function The dovetail profile of the jaws provides an excellent way to grip workpieces from the inside, for example when a visible spigot is not desired on bowls. Deeper jaws are suited to other projects, such as pepperpots.

Contraction Function Another popular method of holding bowls is to grip a spigot (or base) from the outside. The jaws also feature a dovetail profile for this external gripping function to ensure a strong, secure hold on the workpiece. External gripping can be used for a variety of projects from bowls to large hollow vessels such as vases.
