Expansion Function The dovetail profile of the jaws provides an excellent way to grip workpieces from the inside, for example when a visible spigot is not desired on bowls. Deeper jaws are suited to other projects, such as pepperpots

Contraction Function Another popular method of holding bowls is to grip a spigot (or base) from the outside. The jaws also feature a dovetail profile for this external gripping function to ensure a strong, secure hold on the workpiece.
