The JWL-1421VS professional bench lathe is a compact large diameter lathe based on the JWL-1221VS. With dimensions similar to it, it can handle parts with a diameter of up to 350 mm (14 inches): bowls, plates, dishes and other objects.

The machine belongs to the new professional Jet line and combines modern control electronics with improved mechanical parts.

It has significantly increased rigidity: compared to analogues of the previous series and competitors, the bed has become wider and the total weight has increased by 10 kg; oversized bearings are used.

The rotation speed can be adjusted using the integrated electronics and the three quick-change pulleys, the selected value is shown on the digital display.

There is also a reverse rotation switch on the control panel, which is indispensable for some types of work, for example when sanding.

The transmission of the rotation from the motor to the spindle is carried out by a 6-groove PloyV belt; three pairs of pulleys are provided to select the required power range. The belt is quick-change via a patented ratchet lever.

The eccentric locking systems of the tool rest and tailstock make adjustments just as easy and quick. There are an index dividing device and a locking pin of the loaded mandrel, which also simplifies the assembly/disassembly on the faceplate mandrel (this requires only a key).

The bed extension can be purchased separately, in this case, the maximum distance from centre to centre will increase to 1010 mm.
