By using cylindrical cutters without the third frontal cutting edge, not end milling, the top finish of the bottom of the groove is given from the frontal sharpening of the side-cutting edges.
They have been designed for cutting the wood sideways, but they can also working in the middle of the wood piece for a few milimeters, but of course you will have to finish the bottom of the groove by using the side-cutting edges.
The expert suggests: please use cutters with the bigger shank which can be assembled on your machine, in order to avoid vibrations and blows.
